Academics

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

Curriculum

Lighthouse Christian Academy uses a variety of publishers to meet our curricular goals. Our textbooks are just one of the many tools used for a successful curriculum. Our curriculum has been designed over the years by qualified educators to provide biblically integrated courses that meet or exceed state standards.

We believe students need to be excellent readers. LCA has built an outstanding reading program that begins Abeka phonics in our preschool and is carried through the elementary school. Our middle and high school students read classic novels, as well as Bible passages and short articles. Writing skills are also paramount in preparing students for the challenges they will face in the future. We focus on developing these skills at each grade level.

Our three and four-year old preschool classrooms use the ABeka curriculum.  Our Kindergarten through 5th grades use the ABeka and Bob Jones.  Our 6th through 12th grades use the ABeka, Bob Jones, Positive Action for Christ, and the Apologia curriculums.

Spiritually, we prepare students with a thoroughly integrated biblical worldview in each course. Bible courses are taught as a core class at every grade level. Students memorize and study scripture, while learning how to apply it to their lives.
